taking my writing out for a walk
The feeders filled
I sit and wait
but no birds come that day.
Early next morning
I lift the blinds
to find my friends are here.
And so I wonder
where they were
the day you filled the feeder
And I rejoice
they came today
to get their tasty treats
I’m waiting for my hummingbirds to come back and make their little tick tick sounds in the sunshine over my lilacs. thanks for the sweet poem to start my cold Seattle morning!
They were out telling all their friends – the feeders are filled, let’s go dine! Cute and simple
Such a simple, upbeat poem. I feel that I lack the ability to write such short pieces. Maybe I will try it tomorrow. Thanks for the inspiration.
I went back and read your previous slices. I like how you capture your moments in poems.
What a wonderful small moment slice of poetry. I really enjoyed it – and it felt so familiar – the thoughts I am having for spring!
