SOL – 3/31

imageWater glistens on browning magnolia petals
fallen in a blustery wind.
Ground soft with mud and moss,
has swallowed the last froth of cherry blossoms.
Hardier blooms are rising in their place,
fluted blossoms filled with rainwater.
The sky is lighter longer,
and though the day is gray and gloomy,
spring’s colors assure the promise
of summer.
