SOL 3-16-2020

I didn’t post yesterday.

I woke up in the wee hours of Sunday morning not feeling so good in my tummy.  Seemed like a bout of food poisoning but most likely Norovirus because it was running rampant at a daycare I visited last week.

Laid low yesterday.  Watched my church service online – nice to be in my pj’s with coffee and hummingbird entertainment out the window.  Plus it was cool to see everyone’s little comments and “likes” as the service progressed.

I slept a lot and started feeling better in the wee hours of Monday morning.  I called in “sick” but technically all of us are working from home indefinitely.  Even though I wasn’t on the clock today there were so many emails and questions to attend to that I felt like I was working.  It was great to be in my sweats sipping ginger ale and eating crackers.

I’m not sure how I feel about the rest of the week.  I’m not very good at working from home.  I like a desk and all the table tops at home are just not good work spaces for me.  And I’m going to have to figure out the most quiet place to do Zoom video where whatever is in the background is okay for the world to see.

So many complications.  Of course with no one at work, I could just pop in there and be all by myself in peace and quiet.  And I could still wear my sweats.  Sounds like a plan.

It certainly is a time of uncertainty. Your cause and effect slice offers an insight into what it’s like being sick. I especially enjoyed the closing line, “Of course with no one at work, I could just pop in there and be all by myself in peace and quiet. And I could still wear my sweats.” Go for it!

Sorry you were sick. I had a run with norovirus in January. It was entirely no fun. There were six people in my office today. I think tomorrow that number will fall to two or three — I won’t be one of them. I’m home for the rest of the week (unless I go in on Friday to check on my plants …). Wishing us all well.
