SOL – 3/30

 

Funny how my mind’s eye sees myself:
lying on a purple yoga mat
in the middle of a school gym
with four other women
at 5:00 on a Monday afternoon.

I keep my eyes closed.
I listen to the young woman telling me to relax –
my toes, my shins, my knee caps…
I stop focusing on each body part
and just lie there,
content to be still,
and far, far, away,
and no longer seeing myself anywhere at all.
