“Beloved” – this is not what I usually say to myself when I look in the mirror.… But why not? Who do you say that I am? Who do you say that you are? Surely, you are beloved. Try it out someday, look at yourself in the mirror and say: “beloved.”
“Beloved“
this endearment
identifies one who is loved so singularly
no other name is necessary.
“Beloved”
The call will come on the wind,
from the sky beyond the ocean,
hastening over mountains,
through the deepest, darkest canyons,
finally whispering breathless from the desert:
“Beloved“
And you will up and go,
because when you hear the name “beloved” softly in the air –
you will know it is for you, singularly loved,
beckoning you to an embrace waiting so fiercely on the threshold
all time will stop
and nothing, not a thing,
will matter any more.

You have such a gift for words that bring insightful visions and stir heartfelt emotions. I plan to share this with my friend I wrote about, whose father did pass away yesterday. Did you write it just for her? I know you didn’t – but it will surely soothe her sorrow and reinforce her faith and hope – perfectly. Thank you.
