My daughter became a home owner last fall.  It was fun to see her decorate and celebrate holidays in her home for the first time.

This morning she called to say her husband woke her up last night to tell her there was a leak from the kitchen sink into the basement.  They are pretty sure it was a limited leak and they got the water stopped but she was thinking she needed to contact a plumber and was worried about the cost.  I suggested she contact her aunt and uncle who are knowledgeable and resourceful to go over and check things out before doing that.

Ah….(sigh, breath out ) …………..the joys and concerns of home ownership.

Ah…(breath in) ………….the gratefulness for family support.

First time home ownership. You’ve captured the fun of the holidays and the worries of repairs. I wonder what my daughters’ first homes will be like. Thanks for sharing.

Owning your home is a blessing and a hardship. It’s yours! AND it’s YOURS! I hope it was a small leak and all is well. Flooding is no fun.

Leaks can sneak up on you and make a lot of trouble. I have a friend dealing with a hidden-in-the-walls leak now that is driving her and her family nuts. I hope your daughter gets her situation all sorted out and for not a lot of money!
