Well the best part about being late to the party of March 1st on the West coast is I get to be first on the block party of March 2nd.
Covid brought me a wonderful poetry Zoom opportunity with friends from my church – many are published poets and I love learning from them every Monday that we meet. This is my little haiku from tonight from a photo prompt:
Two on a hill we
were. Holding tight to a string,
nothing else to lose.

I love poetry and the purposeful use of words. You captured the image beautifully. I particularly liked the way you divided WE and WERE. I look forward to more early morning poetry.

I love that photo and the way you’ve captured it in a haiku. A poetry Zoom class sounds wonderful.

Ah, so lovely … Haiku can be the perfect poetry form for some moments, like these …
A riff off your poem:
Hold tight to the string,
as the world sings, in a key
of people, not things

I can imagine the joy. Last spring I had poetry breakfast party with my students on Google Meet and it was a super joyful event. Thank you for sharing the haiku.

LOVE the photo with your haiku! My favorite line is, “nothing else to lose”. It sounds like a line I might start a piece with…can lead to so many possibilities.
I think I might need to consider adding more poetry into my life – your community of writers sounds awesome.

The kite in the sky reminded me of a book I just read.
